14 Days Mt Kenya (Sirimon-Chogoria Route)/Mt. Kilimanjaro (Marangu Route)
Section 1
Mt Kenya Sirimon-Chogoria Traverse 5 days
Interesting combination of the two most scenic routes on Mount Kenya, from the lush green forests and U-shaped valleys of Sirimon to the unique features of the temple, mushroom rocks and the Gorges Valley on the Chogoria side. There is also a marked contrast in micro-climatic conditions, Sirimon being wetter and moister than Chogoria.

Day 1: NAIROBI – OLDMOSES CAMP (3,300M)
Leave Nairobi early and drive for 3hrs to Mountain Rock Lodge for Lunch. Leave the Lodge at 1400hrs to be transferred to Sirimon Park gate from where you hike through montane forest, bamboo and rosewood up to the OldMoses Hut, gaining an elevation range of 700m in 3-4 hours. Dinner and Overnight at OldMoses Hut (3300m)
Day 2: OLDMOSES – SHIPTON’S CAMP (4,200M)
A long and rather tiring day leading to the base of the high peaks. Today is trek is largely through the moorlands and the Mackinder Valley, with good views of the main peaks and a brief stopover for picnic lunch. Total walking time is approx. 7 hours gaining 900m in altitude. Dinner and Overnight at Shipton's Hut (4200m)
Day 3: SHIPTON’S – POINT LENANA (4,985M) –MINTOS CAMPSITE (4,300M)
Pre-dawn attempt of the summit starts at 0300hrs, taking 3-4 hours to reach Pt. Lenana 4985m (the hikers summit) in time to watch the sunrise. When the morning skies are clear, you can see the snow capped summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro several miles away to the south. Descend to Minto's camp for breakfast. Spend the rest of the day at leisure or exploring the spectacular Gorges Valley. Dinner and Overnight at Minto’s campsite (4300m)
Day 4: MINTOS – CHOGORIA PARK GATE (3,000M)
Leisurely descent along the left bank of Gorges Valley with a chance to enjoy the great scenery of the Temple, mushroom rocks, lakes etc. You arrive at the Meru Mt Kenya lodge after a 5-6 hours trek. Picnic lunch is served en route. Dinner and Overnight at Mt. Kenya Lodge (3000m)
Day 5: CHOGORIA – NAIROBI
Leave at 0700 hrs, walking down to meet our vehicle for transfer back to Nairobi. Dinner and overnight in a Nairobi Hotel.
Section 2
Amboseli Wildlife Viewing
Day 6: NAIROBI – AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK
Leave early for a drive to Amboseli National Park, evening game drive en route to our camp for dinner and overnight.
Day 7: AMBOSELI
Whole day of game drives in Amboseli. Overnight at the camp
Day 8: AMBOSELI -ARUSHA
Transfer to Arusha for dinner and Overnight.
Section 3 
6 Days Kilimanjaro Hike - Marangu Route
Day 9: ARUSHA – MANDARA HUT (2,750M)
Leave after early breakfast, driving to Marangu Park gate (1800m) from where our trek begins. Today's hike is a leisurely one, following the truck as it meanders through lush green forest, with the possibility of sighting birds and wildlife. Our first camp is Mandara Hut (2750m), a bunkhouse equipped with beds and foam mattresses. Total walking time 4-5 hours. From Mandara, you can walk a short distance up to Maundi crater rim from where you can enjoy splendid views of plains, lakes and scenic volcanic formations below.
Day 10: MANDARA – HOROMBO HUT (3,720M)
Leave at 7.00am, first walking through the upper forest before you enter the sprawling moorlands, a zone which abounds in giant groundsels, flowers, tussock grasses and many other interesting plants. After a long walk lasting 6-7 hours, we arrive at our next camp-Horombo Hut (3720m).
Day 11: HOROMBO (3,720M) Acclimatization day
Spend a day at Horombo, rest and acclimatization

Day 12: HOROMBO – KIBO HUT (4,700M)
Continue with trek, completing the remaining stretch of moorlands to enter the afro-alpine zone. This is a dry and desert-like rocky region. After replenishing our water reserves in sufficient quantities at the last stream we cross popularly known as the "last water point", we hike further to Kibo Hut (4700m) at the base of the summit. The total walking time is about 5-7 hours, gaining 1000m in altitude. It's advisable we go to bed early tonight in readiness for the challenging ascent to the summit tomorrow.
Day 13: KIBO – UHURU PEAK (5,896M) –HOROMBO HUT (3,720M)
A long and hard day. We get up at midnight, have a hot beverage then begin the steep and challenging, but exhilarating trek to the summit. From Kibo hut to Uhuru Peak (5896m) is a distance of 4km, taking 7-8 hours. Our experienced guide keeps the pace reasonable. We arrive at Gillman's Point (5685m) in time to catch the fascinating sight of the sun as it rises over the Mawenzi Peak. More energetic hikers can continue trekking for another two hours to Uhuru Peak (5896m), the highest point in Africa. From the summit, we descend to Horombo hut, a distance of 14 km in 5-7 hours (a descent of 2200m) for overnight.
Day 14: HOROMBO HUT – ARUSHA
We descend 18 km in about 5 hours; a descent of 1900m through the virgin forest to Marangu park gate, collect certificates then connect with transfer vehicle off the mountain to Arusha.
